Hi!

I’m Emma and this is my therapy dog, Teddy. At Superbloom, we work together to create a space where you feel heard, seen, and comfortable. I love to support individuals and couples who are navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, OCD, and trauma. Going to therapy for the first time or the 50th time can feel like a big step - and it is! Healing isn’t easy and it also isn’t linear. I invite you to reach out to chat and see if we may be good partners in the next step of your journey.

  • I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University and my Masters in Mental Health Counseling at The University of Toledo where I was selected as an NBCC Minority Fellow, specializing in addiction. For the past 5 years, I have practiced in community mental health and private practice where I’ve served folks managing depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, complex relationships, and addiction. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in Arizona. Additionally, I have completed trainings in: Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels 1&2, EMDR, and Brainspotting, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

  • My guiding light as a therapist is meeting you where you are. For me, this means an integrative approach where I utilize the modalities that best fit your needs. I connect most to existential (“what is the meaning of life?”) and psychodynamic (“how has my past impacted me?”) therapeutic orientations as frameworks to understand the ‘what and why.’ Paired with this ‘what’ and ‘why’ is the ‘how to move through’ which I believe is best facilitated with a blend of more somatic/creative approaches like art therapy and EMDR as well as more behavioral work like ERP or CBT.

  • My office is located in Biltmore in a walkable area with free parking in the lot or neighborhood street. The office space is curated to help you feel at ease with lots of natural light, cozy blankets and pillows, different sensory items like fidgets and candles, snacks and drinks, a free little therapy library and private waiting room to relax before your session.

What is a Superbloom?

In the southwest, there is a rare phenomenon in which a combination of tumultuous weather conditions over several years create the perfect environment for a spectacular display of wildflowers - a superbloom

Life mirrors nature in this way. Many years can be tumultuous, challenging, and then, under the right conditions, an explosion of beautiful growth may emerge.

At Superbloom Therapy, it is my goal to support you in your own personal superbloom by using creative, evidence based therapy. I support both individuals and couples who are looking for more color in their lives.
